Bid4aCure is an effort by a group of concerned residents of the popular
online virtual world of
Second Life to raise both awareness
and contributions for the real-world organizations: The
American Diabetes Association and
Diabetes UK. In June 2009 we held our
third Bid4aCure benefit drive
and it was our most successful one yet. Despite the difficult
economy, the incredible giving spirit of Second Life residents allowed
us to raise well over 1.7
million Linden Dollars! That is over L$700,00 more than we
raised in 2008! Our deepest appreciation goes out to all
of our
Sponsors and those who donated so generously to this effort.
The battle
against diabetes goes on, but all of you that contributed to Bid4aCure
2009 have made a difference. Thank you all!
